Society for the Education of the Crippled (SEC), educates and rehabilitates children and adults with physical disabilities. The society aims to make these economically deprived children productive members of the society.
The Ex-Students of SEC will present their second show “Living Their Dreams” from 7th to 9th June 2013. The event will be held at the Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai.
“The aim of this show is to recognize, appreciate and give a boost to the students who despite their severe handicap and all odds try to maintain a positive approach towards life”, says Zarine Chothia, Vice President of Society for the Education of the Crippled (SEC).
These students are highly talented and despite their handicap, they create works of beauty with some of them even painting with their feet and impaired limbs.
These students draw their inspiration from many artists. They have painted on various themes like Buddhas, horses, portraits and scenery based on each one’s individual interest. Nitin for example looks for divine love and focuses on Buddhas which he has tried to depict this through various art mediums.
