What happens when Microsoft, Chef Vikas Khanna, and technology journalist Rajiv Makhni come together? You get Microsoft Lumia App tasting. Microsoft India recently collaborated with WOW to do a tasting of Microsoft Lumia apps at Taj Mahal Hotel (That’s Taj Mansingh for you) Delhi.

Vikas and Rajiv engaged with the audience like magic who swooned to their every move.

Rajiv introduced the audience to the amazing world of Microsoft apps. Microsoft Lumia has an app universe which can put iPhone and Android apps to shame. Here are some apps Rajiv Makhni showcased at the event.

Never Lose Your Luggage

Or for that matter anything valuable. This app comes with a poker chip sized device which can be placed in your luggage. Your Microsoft Lumia smart phone connects to the device. The app interface points the location of your luggage and also gives a warning tone when you move beyond a set range.

Never Get Photo Bombed

Hate when your favourite moment is photo bombed? With this Microsoft Lumia app you will never get photo bombed again. This app magically edits out the photo bomber and you are left with a perfect selfie.

Videos are So Much Better

Do you feel the same. Rajiv demonstrated how one can turn a memorable event into a video using this amazing app. This app stitches a series of photographs and makes a nice motion capture kind of video out of it.

Your Virtual Tour Guide

This was by far my favourite app. When you start this app it presents a map. The map is aware of the direction the phone is pointed in. So when you turn the map turns with you. Now the map is filled with information on the places in the vicinity. It will show you cafes, restaurants and other places of attraction around you. The app also gives directions, ratings and much more. Download this app on your Microsoft Lumia phone and become a veteran tourist in a jiffy.

Let’s Taste It

Chef Vikas Khanna connected with the crowd like no other host. The audience went crazy. And that will be an understatement. He conducted fun games and broke many hearts with his disarming smile. ‘Nuff said. A picture is worth a thousand words so let’s bring them on.
